My dad used to annoy the hell out of car dealers (and myself when I accompanied him) by lowballing so much that it was laughable. In his mind:

Used Car = At Least 1/2 Off Its Previous Sale Price Regardless Of Miles On It

So by that equation, if you origianlly paid about $22,000, he'd be glad to offer you $11,000. You can laugh now.

How much did you pay for the alarm with remote start? I used to have one in my other car only it was a Python alarm. Cost me about $430 with power door locks since my car didn't have power anything other than power steering? One more question. I noticed your side maker rewiring; what is that good for?

 

Actually, he's ended up with pretty good deals on new cars. His 'tactics' usually frustrate the dealer so bad that they offer him a good price just to get him out of the door! LOL He got his Dodge Lancer back in the '80s and then his Altima that way.

I can't go car shopping with him, though. His car buying ways drive me nuts. Did I mention that a VW dealer nearly threw us out once? Oh, the shame!
