this is crazy. At first, i was thinking about getting the ugly altima. but now, i don't know what to do. since honda is killing the prelude, honda will probably make the accord w/ a v6 w/ 5spd. so 240+hp + 5spd = kick ***(for both honda and nissan fans)!!!!

go here: http://www.autonews.com/html/main/stories/laconf427.htm

I hope this sparks a battle b/t Toyota, Honda, and Nissan in the most hp department for their cars.

If Nissan ever uses the RB26DETT over here... game over.

You are the weakest link, good bye!

So you're hooked on the show too.
It's good to know that the Max would never be the weakest link compared to our Camry/Accord comrades. Go Nissan!

Ok, your name is Mugen and you are surprised that Honda is having a 240hp engine?

The Euro-R is a 2.0 L inline 4 Vtec no turbo produce 250hp.
The Prelude Type-S engine produce more than 220hp.
In fact, the inspire Type-S in Japan has which is the TL-S here already has 260hp! It is not that big of a deal for the Accord to have 240hp.

Ok, i know gas prices are sky rocketing but as a racer and HP maniac most racers are, how many of you agree with the artical in "Because gasoline prices are rising, perhaps the times are not ideal for a horsepower war. Asked about a potential spike in fuel prices". i think if you really like to race and high speed you won't care toooo much about the price of gasoline...i mean it's an issue but still speed is speed.

Perhaps this will turn out like the American car wars of the 60's and early 70's, where the Big 3 were trying to out-muscle each other, and we import owners will end up with stuff like:
- Ram Air
- "shaker" hoods
- hood tackometers
- Hemi's
- 350/350
- Lightning rod shifters
- and the like

Nissans Rule!

Remember, that even though Honda makes good cars, Nissans totally rule in Japan for sport. Too bad we don't get the Silvia Anyway, you'd probably have to rev to 9000 rpm to get 240

I read on Superhonda.org that the 240 HP V6 will come with a 5 speed automatic. This would make the Accord automatic version faster than the 2002 Altima or 5th gen auto Maxima. Yikes... time to get something faster. It's depressing when the Maxima loses to the Accord.

What? Nissan dominates in Sports car in Japan?

Hmmmm, let see:

NSX Type-S
NSX R
NSX base
S2000
Prelude Type-S
Prelude base
Integra Type-R
Integra Si-R
Civic Type-R
Civic Si-R

I think Nissan only has:

Skyline GT-R V Spec
Skyline GT-R R34
Silvia Spec-S
Silvia Spec-R
Silvia convertible
Fairlady Z.

I think the GT-R is like one of the best Japanese made super cars, but the NSX is a world class exotic car.

Honda does have more sportier cars than Nissan. But i only consider NSX's and the S2000 to be real sports cars.

I don't see any street legal 600+hp honda's on the street, unlike Nissan's. To bad the US doesn't get any of those Nissans listed, except the 300zx.

I think Nissan is awesome! After the release of the NEW Silvia, they still use the body of the old previous generation Silvia body and stuck in a 2.0L Turbo 200hp engine into the old Silva body and sell it as 200SX! But the fact is that the 200SX has better suspension than the previous Silvia. Man, even the 200SX had rear wheel drive!

I bought my wife the Accord 5-speed 4cyl. The dealer told me that Honda couldn't figure out how to put a 5 speed in with the 6cyl. The 4cyl is slow as a dog and the Auto 6cyl isnt much better. I think any Nissan is a far superior car.

Anytime Honda tries anything new, they usually have probs.

Just my 2 cents...
