carbon fiber hood choices

ok, my bodyshop has no problem with me paying the difference and hooking me up with a CF hood. so im lookin into them right now. so far ive found:

VIS
http://www.visracing.com/catalog/pro...roducts_id=258

Vision Autodynamics

ABS

i dont know who else is out there, i remember some company called Sunny something from V6P that made hoods, but i cant remember their name. the ABS one is cheapest, and i havent got a price on VIS yet, but what do all you guys think? Experience with any? Im leaning toward VIS just cuz its what the majority of people have on here.

whichever you get make sure it has rolled edges. I would pay the extra and get the VIS.
note i don't have a cf hood but have been doing research

thanks man, ive learned that reading the info too. i also now see on andysautosport.com that they are selling a carboncreations one and a Seibon one....

im leaning more toward carbon creations and Seibon...they both seem like smaller companies making higher quality stuff...

I can get you a great deal on the ABS Dynamics hood. Worth a shot at a great price, and you could always send it back if it isn't up to standards.

As for the rolled edges debate, that's a tough one. Some think it looks better, some don't. Also, with rolled edges you can't trim the hood at all in case it doesn't fit absolutely perfectly. With unrolled edges, a bodyshop or you could make some minor adjustments as neccessary.

how is the ABS Dynamics one vs. the Carbon Creations one? andysautosport has the CC one for $318 plus shipping on sale thru Feb.

if it doesnt have rolled edges, what does that mean? what do the edges look like?

isnt VIS more reliable in the fittment triple. I mean ive never seen the ABS one in person, but ive seen the VIS and it seems to be just right on the car. although some people have to change the hood latch (from the body of the car) but that takes 2 seconds.

also with the rolled edges the hood will not peel as easy as the hoods without the rolled edges.

ok, carbon creations said they do NOT have rolled edges. seibon said they do. i was leaning toward CC because they made an all CF RX-7. i figured if they could make a whole CF car, they could do a hood good.

of course, CC said you dont really need rolled edges if the hood is made good, and seibon said rolled edges prevent the hood from peeling, like prlmax said. now im leanin toward seibon. i got a few days to decide...

I need a hood for next spring, I'd be leaning toward quality and fitting more than price.

I remember the 350Z guys mentioning that Seibon had some fitment issues. Not sure how it is with the Maxima hoods.

I've seen the VIS on Mike's car, it was the yellow cake of all hoods.

We carry both. Any CF product will turn yellow if not properly cared for.

I just installed the Invader on my car a few weeks ago. I had real trouble getting the bolts to go through all the holes evenly. I had to tug and pull VERY hard just to get the bolts through. Luckily my GF's dad is more auto-handy than me, because he messed with it, and the latch, and now it fit but only fully latches when I SLAM it. How are you supposed to treat a CF Hood? Wax...etc...?

Remembered something else I wanted to ask...How can I get my washer nozzles out of old hood, or where can I get more? (besides chrome ones)

I am going to be getting one of these really soon and I have made my decision on getting VIS. I just have to decide whether I want to get an invader or stock.
