is it really as ez as disconnecting my battery 4 an hour?

 

yup. just unhook the battery for like an hour. Then, start up the car and let it idle until it reaches normal operating temperature.

 

That is the easiest thing to do: disconnect for 45 mins~1 hr. However, the ESM describes a longer process where you stick a screw driver in its brain and do some stuff. I don't know if the two end up with the same results.

 

What is the addvantage to reseting your ecu??

can't hurt.....the only thing you will have to do is reprogram your stereo presets and the clock.

 

What does resetting the ECU do? Can it hurt the car? Why isn't it part of a recommended service?

 

is throught a consult. but you can kinda reset it by disclonecting the battery terminal.
