Nissan's New Paint Pen?

Do you think that this will work okay? I heard the regular touch-up paint isn't the best all the time but they have this new pen applicator with paint on one end and a clear coat applicator on the other end for $12.99 rather than the $3.99 touch up paint

http://www.courtesyparts.com/paint/maxima.html

tell me what you think...u can click under the pic of the pen for a description

Going to need a few of those with all the chips I've got. Great idea, that old paint brush option sucked.

i am not sure. I have pearl paint and there is nothign to duplicate the layer that adds the sparkle so it shows up as a blob. I want to try that langa stuff. I hope it really works.

no touch up paint can really match the factory paint because by now our cars have been exposed to the elements which causes the paint to slightly change color. what touch up paint would you recommend?

I've been thinking about touching up a few chips, but what do I need to do to prep the surface before I paint it?

I know that the surface needs to be clean, but in one or two of my chips, there are tiny rust spots. Last time I checked, painting over a rust spot was a bad idea. What would you guys do to get rid of the rust?

langka has a product they sell that helps you clean out the spots (see linkss below). but you definitely have to remove the rust before you touch it up. otherwise it'll be a weekly project.

the prepaint comes with their complete kit

I've used touch up paint from http://www.paintscratch.com/ along w/ Lanka for most of my cars. Color is very very close. You probably don't notice the chips unless I point them out for ya.

thanks. i'm gonna look into that. do you need to get the clear coat or will the paint sealant that comes with langka be good enough?

I just buy the touch up paint and the complete Lanka kit. Lanka comes w/ clear coat which is good enough for me. No need to spend extra.

careful w/ that stuff. some of those rubbing compounds can be very abrasive & harmful to the paint

i follow with a dab of Naval Jelly(yes is it a real product) to neutrilize the rust and to be sure it is gone, works great. just dont get it on any of the paint. i put it on with a match stick that i cut at an angle...

The paint from paintscratch.com matches well. It's pricey but worth it. The Nissan touch-up comes out to silvery.

As far as the paint pens go, I think the old brush & bottle work better.
