i have two questions...

1) My volume **** is broke, it wont turn down the music or up, but it does turn off and on... has anyone had this problem?

2) Is there any rewire mod where ur headlights turn on when u unlock your car?

 

1) Didn't have that problem with mine, but now I have an Alpine HU, anyway.

2) Never heard of such a mod, but that would be sweet. Though I think impossible because you'd need to wire the lights up to something that has a timer, and I don't know where you'd find that in the car.

I have not had a problem with my **** but it sounds like it maybe stripped. Not sure if it is just the plastic part on the **** or inside the headunit but that is what it sounds like to me at least.

 

im sure you can do this, a second power wire from the fuse for the interior light (which comes on when you unlock your doors) would have to run to a relay or fuse for the headlights, to give them power to simulate the switch being turned on. the thing is, i dont know what would happen when you actually turned your headlight switch ON, or if you flipped your interior light on or off when your headlights were on. plus, i dont know if locking your car would turn off the headlights. i would ASSume everything would work out ok, cuz when you close one circuit like that, you open another...so it may work, but i dont think any of us have tried it.

 

I want to try to make this work, it would be a cool mod.

The **** isnt stripped, i took it off and the metal thing that turns doesnt work... i hope it wont cost alot...

My cousins honda accord does that. When you unlock the car with remote, the parking lights basically come on and stays on for like 3 minutes. It's not the car, it has to do with your alarm. He has a viper alarm system, so I guess for the people that have aftermarket alarm system, you can get it rewired to do that from ur stereo/aram shop.

yeah, you have to get it set up to do that. whoever installed or a local shop, you have to tell them you want that. when i unlock my car, the parking lights flash twice and it unlocks. its something Don asked me when he was installing it, he programmed it with Vipers programming thing. another option i think was to stay on until i put the key in.

 

Exactly, it's an option that you can have the shop setup when they install the alarm. Go back to the shop and ask them to do it for u, they should be able to hook u up.

right, so you gotta take that to your shop that installed it, or another shop, and tell them that you want your parking lights to stay on when you unlock the car. it can be done, they just have to do it.

This happens every once and a while with mine. It always turns on and off, but every couple of days the volume will not go up or down. I have to keep turning it back and forth for a while before it works. No idea how to fix it.

 

If you want that, get an american car...they all do that...

Personally I would hate if Maximas did that because I have HIDs everywhere.

 

the lights flash when the alarm is set off, and personally, i would think thats a bad thing, because the HIDs are not meant to flash on and off like that...just a thought
