Need opinion on rims

Hey, I am torn between getting 18" rims and 20" inch rims. I am also torn between whether or not I want to get gloss black or if I want to go chrome or polished silver? Tell me what you guys think. I have a black 2000 maxima.

I would definitely go with the gloss-black.. nothing better than black to compliment the color of your car.

if it were me, i would not go over 18 and i like the black on black look. even a dark gray looks nice. it depends on what look and function you want from the wheel.

i think gunmetal would look better then black...and 18 is the biggest you need to go on a maxima (or any car for that matter)

Silver is a nice contrast to a dark Maxima. I have a grey lustre and I have silver 5zigens coming. All blacked out is almost too incognito you almost stick out more. My vote would be for 18s.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

I vote for black on black with a polished lip.......with rivets.(to help to offset the black hole effect.) 19's look good IMO, 18's are ok, and 20's are too big. Just my .02.

if i had a black max, it would def be rollin on black rims. black rims seem get a love it or hate it response. after owning a black/black combo for the past 12 years, my unofficial survey indicates that most ladies dont care for black rims and only the dudes who are really into cars like them....main comment i got "it looks like the hub caps fell off" . anyway, i plan to put black rims on my other black car this year....

as for the size, i agree that 19's have been a nice compromise...but 20's do look nice on a larger car like the max.

if you keep your call clean all the time do the polished lip/gloss black spokes like deckedout2s, or silver since they still look ok when dirty

I would say the same about the gunmetal with polished lip, but if you do that you gotta get them in 19". Rims with lips usually look smaller than their actual size. My first choice in color would be the Polished silver/aluminum... Not a fan of painted or chrome. 19" rims are IMO the best size for the Maxima if you get the right design.

The polished finish looks great in different lighting...on a sunny day they shine like chrome and at night they look darker...

This was taken at sunset:

get black with a polish lip. That's always nice... or you can go to www.jlinewheels.com and they have many options or wheel with custom colors. But their is a big price to pay for the wheels.

Fact is that chrome goes GREAT with a black Max. Not only that but they are much easier to keep clean as long as you wipe them off on a regular basis.

However I would not go with anything large than 18" unless you want it to look like someone "pimped" your car
