I have an 01 GLE with 85,000 miles. I have noticed this winter (especially in wet or salty conditions) that I am getting a sqeaking noise from the engine (sounds like a belt slipping). I had thr drive bellts changed but it still happens. It does not seem to happen at high speed but usually between 30 and 50 MPH. Any ideas what it could be? It does not seem to be hurting performance.

 

Just a quick question. Is the noise louder/worse when you cold start the car? Even though you may have had the belts replaced, a lot of times they may still be loose. Have whoever did the belts for you tighten them if necessary. Check into it. All I can offer, but good luck.
