I hate JIC Magic

Ok so I finally got around to installing my JIC Magics that I bought off a certain .org member. I installed them last week and waited till this Saturday to take the car to my counsins shop to get it aligned- I only drove it with messed up aligment from my dealership home- 35 miles. Ride was extremelly bouncy but I thought its probably cause I don't have the shocks adjusted yet, and I heard some clunking noises from the left front strut. I parked the car and drove my Legend for the week till I got it aligned. I got the car aligned to my spec -1.0 deg of camber up front with rear settling in at -1.0 caber also, toe within spec and caster all within specs. I tightened up the front struts and went for a ride- imidiatelly the front end started to bounce like crazy, the left front strut makes NASTY noises. We are talking something like a completly loose ball joint or something. Both front struts are blown, and I am out of a large sum of $$$. I heard horror stories bout these things giving out, what should I do ? I only haved had them on my car for less than 100 miles and the ride is REALLY bouncy, and the clunking noise is killing me every time I hit a expansion joint. Not only did I wait for a long time for these, now they are no good,

Get in contact with who you bought them from. Hearing your side of the story leads me to believe that they were in that condition when you received them.

Have you tried changing the settings? The noise will go away if you spray the brakets with Lithium Grease

thats why used parts scare me. info@JIC-Magic.com <info@JIC-Magic.com>. try emialing these guys, guess the only thing u can really do have them rebuilt. not sure how much thats gonna cost.

did u notice any difference when u set the firmness, with my us-1's on the softest setting i swear its softer than stock. not that i ever drive them like that.

do u still have ur old suspension to put in while u wiat for urs to get rebuilt?

I will make a video of my car if thats what it takes, I don't mind the bounciness that much but this is really pathetic, I cranked them up all the way up today to see what it would be like- noise got REALLY bad, and it got even bouncier. BTW these are FLTA2s that I bought of Chinaonnitrous.

Yeah that does suck, they dont warantee used parts. Only orig. buyer.

It will prolly run you around $300-400 to rebuild.

how often is the clunking noise?....make sure the nut on top where the dampening adjustment is on top of is tight....could be just the top hat making all that racket because of that nut not being tight enough.

I have a friend here that bought used a2's from the org. Rebuild is $1000+ quoted by JIC for buying them used

they are with two other org members that have had JIC struts blow out of them. I say call up china and have him resolve the issue under warranty hopefully

I tried tightening the nut, at the softest setting where I had them the ride is MEGA bouncy - imagine pulling into your garage where the floor is a bout .5-1" higher than the drive way, going over that at your normal speed- 2-3MPH the car bunces bout .5-1" up and down like 3 times and then settles in. Slow speed driving bouncing is nasty, when you get over a certain speed the bounciness is less but its still there. When my Konis blew in the front one time the ride was almost similar to the JICs. I'm going to try to lube up the tops with white lithium grease tomorrow- after I get a can of it from work. For now its back to my old Legend. Ride is so bad that my whole greddy exhaust is hitting the undercarriage of the car.

Dirty car pics the nite I installed them.

I didn't lower it anymore than China had it set to, the drop is pretty much same as my GC/Koni in the front, and lower in the back than I had it.

I'm not paying 1000 to rebuild these things considering I just paid 1050 for them and had them on my car for 100 miles !

what if you just contacted JIC and claimed you were the original purchaser. maybe even try and get china's original receipt. im not sure if struts have this on them, but on the strut, if there is a build date, you could try and use that to claim the warranty. hell, call them and tell them it was a graduation present or something, and less then XXXX miles later, they blew.

I'm taking them off sometime this week and putting my GC/Konis back on. Can't ride around bouncing like this. Acceleration is not smooth cause of the bouncy suspension- engine is kinda hesistating due to my foot not being stable on the gas pedal. I was really pissed at my car today, and I tend to keep my cool most of the time. But when this kinda **** was going down a new 350Z or a 05 RSX Type S looked very appealing to me.

Call Paul@Avalon Racing to see what a rebuild will cost you.

FYI, Chinanitrous doesn't have a receipt that would do you any good with a warranty, I'm pretty sure.

I hate Koni shocks as much as I hate JICs now, I am on my 4th set of Koni yellows in the front. They do not last with stiff springs like GCs or if ya make it work JICs.

Alright last nite I got around lubing the shizznit out of the pillow ball mounts witha tube of white lithium grease, let it settle and took it for a ride. The clunk was still there, I diagnosed the LF shock was blown from the get GO. Adjusting the LF shock does nothing as far as ride and clunkiness. I am fuqed calling the local Cali authorities if China doesnt respond. This is getting ridicilous, I waited almost a month for these FLTA2s just to find out the LF strut is blown, how nice of a .Orger.

**** like this is making me look for a new car to toy around with, and I already found one. My fiancee thinks I love my Maxima more than her, but lately I have been soooo dissapointed with the Max... man it makes me cringe at the thought of alll the $$$ and pain invested in this car over the last 4 years. I'm keepn the Max for my daily driving and looking at a toy car for weekends now.

And people wondered why I took my JICs off after only 1 week and sold them for a loss.

Sorry to hear that mike. I would be really discouraged also, but i bet in a week or two your back to loving your car. I am so glad i went with my tosers. Springs are a little stiff, but i am riding extremely low for about 1 1/2 years and have not had one blown strut
