I ordered my AE Engine Cover today. Dave said it took him all of 5 minutes to install it.

what is the ae cover made of? i heard that its just a piece of plastic, is this true? looks really nice though.

Looks like it'll clear your SC. The BOV is not in front like the 4th gens right? I think that's the only concern.

It's plastic. It's the same cover that comes on the i30. Mine has one just like it, except with the Infiniti logo instead of Nissan logo.

I painted mine blue.

What's the engine cover supposed to do? From the picture, it seems to only cover about half of the top surface of the engine, so I can't imagine it doing much other than just dressing up the look of it all. Aren't engine covers supposed to be noise reduction accessories?

No. I think you only gain 5hp if you add the AE Sills. The Engine Cover is strictly for looks.
