Well got a call from the SM today telling me that Nissan wants to replace both engine mounts AND the ECM AGAIN

I'm no mathematician(hell I can't even spell it ) but I know that including the original mounts and ECM, this will be the third set of parts that is going in this car in 3000 miles.

Nissan wants to replace all 3 parts at the same time to see if that will solve the chirping engine mount problem. Since all three parts were replaced at different times, they figure that perhaps that they aren't playing nice with each other or something like that. Of course all 3 parts are backordered and not even available in the States yet...ack!

Does anyone have a clue on the amount of money that Nissan is spending here??

To summarize I think it is a pretty high dollar amount(a third?) for a car that I paid 21.9K for...in other words....somebodys going to have to go back and get a shheeeeetload of dimes..

How's your research on the Lemon Law? If they replace all that it'll be the second time... also, didn't you replace something else three times already?

MA Lemon Law...

The MA lemon law is very specific that the defect must be safety related and impair the operation of the vehicle...annoying defects are just that annoying...there are avenues to take to deal with that but it is seperate from the lemon law...

I'm still not convinced that this isnt a safety defect....but until I can proce it is I'm sort of bumming...(if it goes that far)

I'm hoping to put this all to rest when these parts come in....actually my dealers is working hard to get this resolved..hell everyone is involved from the GM to the Sales Manager to the Service Manager.

The SM is actually a pretty decent guy...had a pretty good chat with him on the phone today...he understands my concerns and is doing his best to resolve them...actually when I sort of told him that I don't hold the dealership at fault for Nissans shoddy quality and now they are stuck fixing it, he replied he doesnt look at it as being "stuck". He said it is their job to resolve customer concerns.

Oh well ....hopefully this whole thing can be resolved....

21.9K, not bad...

that seems like a pretty good deal. Well, not anymore..

replacing all that again is asinine. I suspect there is another motivation for this. At this point its a learning experience for them too I suppose.

I agree

does seem sort of goofy to swap out all those parts again....guess my 2K SE is quasi 4,7,8,9,10/00 build now...lol

This is Nissan telling my dealer to do this not them...if fact a Nissan engineer is supposed to be at the dealership when the parts are being replaced...gee maybe they'll go..."We can't fix it...would you like a 20th Anniversary Edtion instead?"

Oh crap I just woke up...gotta hit the sack...was a nice gesture on their part anyways on the 20th....

Have you contacted your local Better Business Bureau? They may be able to help you out also.
