has anyone changed rear break piston dust seals?

I was changing my rear breaks, and noticed that dust seal (rubber thingy surrounding piston) looks beat up and out of its place. The dealer sells the seal kit that comes with some other parts.
My question is - are those easy to change? Do I need to bleed the breaks?
Thanks.

i was thinking about doing that smae thing on my 4th gen, it looks like it could be a pain in the *** job to do, but it would save your caliper. i think you'd have to bleed the brakes for that. how much is hte seal kit?

Dealer quoted me $50 for both rear calipers.
You would also need a rear piston compression tool to take the piston out and then put it back in ( theoretically you can do that with pliers, but its a major
pain in the a$$)

they sell an attachment at sears auto parts stores that attaches to a 1/2" drive ratchet and can be used to turn the piston. its like 11 bucks, i was gonna buy it last time but i used pliers with some WD40 around the seal to prevent it from binding while i was turning the piston.

You can rent the tool at Advance Auto parts.... it comes with a lot of tools included. I used it, and it worked great..... I might have to change one of the seals or at least put it back inside, it got out.
