Interior fan noise

On my way to work this morning I had the defroster on and started hearing a noise coming from the passenger foot well area. It sounds like something is rubbing up against a fan in there, though when I took a quick look I didn't see an easy way to access anything in there. Granted, it was just a fast parking lot look so I'm not sure how to get parts and covers off of anything in there, but is there something bigger I'll have to do to get to the fan or filter in that area?

its your AC blower motor, its been mentioned several times here. you have to replace it. mine sounds liek a cell phone vibrating in there. but its not tha bad when its warm outside.

Go to a junk yard any buy a replacement there. The bearings are shot in it.

Thanks for the info though. I'll have to pick one up, junkyard or online somewhere and put that in. Thanks guys.

$600 is a rip. My dealer quoted me 325 installed. I bought a used one for 60 bones and put it in myself in about 15 minutes. I tried fixing the old one but the bearing is a sleave bearing that cannot be replaced (the motor shaft wears). POS design.

This is EXACTLY why the .org is the place to post. Good looking out, Kevin. Thanks a lot. I have to start adding these places to my sites to look for parts pages. That page kicks butt.

And GBAUER, I was thinking the same thing about trying to fix the old one, it's good to know I don't have to waste my time now
