Looks good Josh. You wasted no time at all getting them on. Let me know how you like those tires when it get wet outside. I mounted some 19s later on in the day and beat my record 5th gen lowering time ...... 1hr10mins.

Don't quote me on this, but I don't think the dustcaps on the rear are even that necessary (not like there are any on the front and no problems that I know of). I was told that they are only there to keep out junk if you're using steelies, but of course I could be wrong..not the first time. Looks damn good, too, btw.

looking good brother. I need to get my tires sizes changed out for the ones your got. i noticed with the Z rims that they have that heavey steering feel that you mentioned. I think that they might be a Tad heavier then stock, but IMO its a negligable differnece. how about some shots of the flushness with the fender? what springs you sitting on?

Damn man in the past two weeks, you car has gone through a complete change, the 5.5 headlights, the G35 rims...all in all it looks pretty tight. Keep it up.

Really nice. As for this statement below, I've been trying to tell you about the crappy Falkens for how long???

well...I still like the falkens, I just wanted to try something different....I won't have a final evaluation though until I get the toyos in the rain and snow!

can anyone confirm this??

[QUOTE=Epacy]Nice Irish, are they are good looking as you thought they would be?[/QUTOE]

yes, I am actually very pleased with how they sit....I was a little worried they would stick out too much and look wierd in the front, but thankfully they are just right

You know it Joel.....not likely I'll be getting a kit, unless I happen to find some 5.5th gen skirts, pre-painted, for dirt cheap (yeah, right)....I'll never say never, but.....

Yeah, and my wallet is feeling it
The rims and lights were the last notable mods for a while....I'm going to spend the next 6 months working on my house hardcore, so in a couple of years I can sell it, get out of the townhouse scene, and get a house with a garage and a yard!!

i've had the dust cap missing on my rear from my 4th gen for years. No issues, but i would go the *modifying/hammering* route you never know what affect if could have on your wheel bearings if dust can get in easily. my $.02

Why would you want to put the 18s through snow, ice and salt? When it's time to get rid of the falkens put on a set of real snow tires. The snows will track and handle as good as the Falkens but they will stop much better.

gunmetal? They are darker in color than the SE rims....these are the only color the G35C rims come in....but alot of the G35s I see they are really dirty since the Brembo brakes seem to kick up alot of dust, so they look darker.

Well, its february here, so theres always a chance of snow for another month or so (in fact there's supposed to be some this weekend apparently)....and the Proxes 4 are all-season. Yeah, yeah, I know, I should have waited another 4 or 5 weeks to put the new rims on, but I can't bear to see them sitting there in my basement! As to the rims...well....G35's use them in the winter, don't they?? That said, I plan to use my SE rims come next winter. I'll probably keep the Falkens on them and then switch to Dunlop Wintersport M3 the following winter (those things are $$$$$$$ though)....

I know you're very anti-Falken and that's fine by me....but I'm certainly not ruling out getting them again, I was satisfied with the previous 2 sets I've used (especially considering I can get them for around $100 each) and if the Toyos wear too fast, or suck in the rain, or perform poorly when 50% worn (all of which remain to be seen)...I would have no problem with getting 512's again.....But I really don't want to turn this into a thread on the 512's....there are enough of those already

True...but first I need some pictures of the car clean, which may not happen for a week.....we're getting more nasty weather this weekend in Burke (as you know, I'm sure)....

several of you asked for shots of how flush they were with the fender lip, so here you go:

(if these pics are coming up as the dreaded "red X", go to this link and look about halfway down the page)
