Possible MAF Problem: Manual Tranny!

My max is 2000, manual transmission. No lights on...however whenever I accelerate between 1000-3000rpms there's a light raspy pinging sound accompanied with a brief hesitation and then the car get's a boost. almost like it isn't breathing correctly. Oh yeah, my coils were replaced at 16K and I only have 35K on my car now. Does it sound like a MAF issue? There's a lot of 2K's having the same issue right now. Also, it seems to be more common with INJEN owners...any connection. I'm gonna run a test on it tomorrow and call good ol Dave B. Any suggestions would be helpful.

It does sound like a maf issue. I had a similar problem where my car would hesitate around 3700rpm. If you find out it is the maf they are fairly inexpensive $95 and very easy to replace. Good luck.

My Maf went out onetime when i was accelerating pretty fast. All the sudden my car just stopped going, so i pulled over and the car died. Then it wouldn't start. Dealership said it was the MAF.
