brake problem. Help please.

I changed rear brake pads and rotors yesterday. I couldn’t get one of the pistons back into caliper, so I disconnected the brake fluid line. After I put everything together, I took a test drive, and encountered a following problem.
When I push the brake pedal, at first I feel brakes starting to stop the car, but then the pedal travels down very easily without any effect on stopping the car. Only when the pedal is all the way down, then the brakes are stopping the car. BTW, I tested the hand brake, and it seems to work fine.
What’s the problem with my brakes? How can I fix it?
Help please.

brake bleeding

Teaser,

If you still have not found out how to bleed the brakes, I can scan in the instructions from a manual and email them to you.

have any of you guys replaced a caliper yet? Stealership wanted 660 to replace a siezed rear caliper that I bought from National Auto Parts. Planning on doing it myself, and was wondering how hard it is?

Bleeding the brakes

It will take you longer to jack up the car and remove the tire than it will to replace the caliper...

thanks, I found some instructions online (http://www.stoptech.com/whitepapers/...rakesright.htm, http://www.stoptech.com/whitepapers/...rakesright.htm)
though I decided that I won't do this procedure by myself, and will take the car to my mechanics. I also need to replace dust seals in rear pistons (they are in very bad condition at 70k), so I ask them to do that and to change brake fluid.
