New springs=CLUNKING...HELP!

Just installed new Tokico HPs/Progress. Now I expereince this intermitment CLUNKING when turning. Are the springs not entirely seated correctly? Or maybe the isolators have shifted. Both I've been told can cause this noise. I need some advice before I take them off and re-install. any suggestions? I think I just didn't line them up perfect. Standing by.

did u align the springs with the strut? theres a certain way to put the spring on also a arrow that points where the spring has to be turned to.

So you think that's the issue?

I think I figured it out. I just raised the fron end which gave me a little access to the strut mounts. I guess there's an "O" for out that it is supposed to be lined up with the "lower mount points" my right one is almost facing the rear of the car (incorrect) which this is the side giving me most of the noise and my left one is about 3" off as well. Damn...I didn't even know those were there because my struts were so dirty. So is the the root of my "clunking?" My guess is yes and I will fix it tomorrow. Just looking for feedback since I'm a novice.

This would probably not allow for the struts to sit properly (cause clunking) and be the reason why there is a little difference in the ride height on the right/left side...right?

Most likely your spring is not seated properly. I had that problem a while back and fixed it by re-sitting the springs.

That's great reassurance... So if I realign the bottom mount with the "out". Life should be good? That's easy enough. It's crazy how just being off on something like that can drasticly affect the ride and cause so much noise.

My ride was bouncy aftera while too. Not anymore. It's like night and day. Best mod yet. I imagine it would be even better if I put them on correctly! Oh well better tofind out now than later. as for my stickers, they're in the glovebox.

that's kind of creative because when the police pull you over and you get your registration, they'll see your stickers aha jk man

Tell me about your clutch and flywheel? Good investment. I'm looking at getting both of those next. Fidanza and Exedy Stage 2. Noticeable difference? I know it's off topic but I started this thread.

aha it's cool, well i got centerforce clutch but i actually sold my fidanza flywheel because it came too late and i didn't wanna pay for labor AGAIN. i was planning on putting everything in once my clutch got replaced. my bad, my profile does say fidanza but i just corrected it. my friend's car is a lot harder to launch and make it smooth. tires do spin more on 1st and cherps easier hitting 2nd. after him putting it in i wanna get one too! driving at higher rpms feels more eased at the accelerator pedal. but my clutch doesn't allow lightweight flywheels, only OE. i would definitely invest the extra beans out your wallet and get one when you replace your clutch. noticable difference yup. since our car is heavy and big, we need it more than honda's do.

I've had a very slight, soft clunking with my Progress/HPs... haven't had time to really look into em yet... of course I've said this for 4 months now...

I'd guess like everyone said... the springs aren't seated exactly where they should be....
