car is stalling NONSTOP!!
say i'm going about 40mph and there is a stop light ahead so i anticipate it and just shift to N and the RPM drops and then STALLS. now another scenerio, i'm in 5th gear and going to a stop sign and i ride the gear down to 1grand and hold the clutch down completely... i still stall!!! i need helppp. i just got a clutch job and my catback is completely crushed and there's a huge bend in it, like it's halfway pancaked, could this be it?

im sure the crushed catback pipes cant be helping the situation, maybe causing a problem with the backpressure. but i dont think i could cause you to stall that frequently.

definately check your MAF, was a guy in th 4th gen furom that what battling with the same issue for months and spent quite abit of money trying to find out the problem. he went to a dealer and got a computer diagnostic and it came up, he changed that MAF sensor and all his problems were fixed. you might want to check to see if you have any vaccum leaks

i dont know the link but take off your stock air box... Pretty easy just look for the bolts that hold it down. Once the bos is removed you will see the throttle body with a metal ring that you can push up. I just sprayed some stuff in there and wiped it out with a rag.

oooh, so you gotta take off the intake pipe as well? i have factory airbox... so basically you clean the lever that flaps? and what's inside that part? and don't clean the intake pipe?

yes take all the air box out and clean all where that thing flaps. It will take about 45 min. or so to take it all out and clean it and put everything back. But I only had 60K on my 2000 and the rag was black. Buy some throttle body cleaner at walmart or something and spray it in thdere and wipe it out.

I said the MAF price, I didn't say that is what is wrong with the car thou Clean your TB first, unplug the battery over night and let the ECU relearn everything. I have bought 4 MAFs from the dealer at 56 bux each 2 years ago, prices have gone up slightly this January when Nissan raised their prices. 56 bux got me just the sensor element, with no tube. I got 2 spare ones just for my own car in case the one I have in there now decides to go out.

i have factory airbox, is that the tube you're referring to? or do you have to get a new tube each time you replace one MAF. can i start the car up after cleaning the TB or let it sit overnight with the battery unplugged, then start it up?

I have the same situation. Mine will stall for about a week or so, and then run fine. Did it 3 times in 15 mins. today. But doesn't the MAF make the car run sluggish though? At least on mine, I've seen no decrease in performance with the stalling issue.

No More Stallsssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fella's, Clean out your throttle Body!!! My 2k was stalling none stop!!!
So I did some research on this (KICK-***) forum and found instructions on how to clean out the TB. It takes about 1 hour and the hardest part is the buttom left screw on the MAF(If you are faceing the front of your sexy MAX). Cleaned it out with a can of Air intake/throttle body cleaner and PRESTO!!!!
MY 2K has never run so well and I have done every thing to get it to Stall. I have raced up to traffic lights, taken the car out of gear(I have a 5sp) and braked hard, NO PROBLEMS

mann, i only have 58,xxx miles, i think that's pretty low for a 2000. but i bought it used and the person before me had mods. so you cleaned your TB, did you disconnect your battery also? i heard you should do this for 1-3 hours after to reset the ECU. what was your whole procedure?
