40K Maintenance advice

Stalling Issues also
YO. I have a 2000 SE. I'm about to hit 40,000 miles. The car's been running pretty good after a damn cold winter. It's snowing now so I guess it's still winter. Anyway, something I've noticed is when the car is warm and in park, when I rev the engine to about 4-5K RPM's..the needle will drop all the down to 500 RPM's or so and sometimes it stalls. What's the deal with that. I'm bringing the car in for a tuneup and inspection in a couple weeks. Like I said, got 40,000 miles now any ideas what could cause that? And anything else I should have my mechanic check out at 40K miles? I'd appreciate some comments. Thanks guys.
P.S. I do a lot of reading on here and have learned a lot about my car through all of you. I've also gotten a lot of ideas from a lot of you and will probably spend a lot of money because of all of you! Thanks a lot.
