Stupid $40 eBay intake!!!!
Well, for those of you who recall my posting a couple of weeks ago about my starter fuse which kept blowing like every couple of days... I finally figured it out..
The cheap-*** intake I bought off eBay for $40 which was about 3/4" too long making the moutning bolt on the lower portion not line up with the engine block hole, thus causing me to have to think of something to do while it just kind of hang out down there with no mount, it was finally moving so much while I drove that it was bumping up against my starter (-) wire lead which is soldered onto the starter right there (external solder, not internal, lame huh?), so if I parked my car and it was resting on the lead, it would short when I started my car and blow the fuse..
It took me weeks cuz I thought it was my carputer and audio/video setup and I thought it was something electrical, and finally figured it out one morning when I saw it touching the starter/wire...
So I took a dremel to my CAI this weekend on the lower portion to make it shorter, so the mount bolt hole lines up, and VOILA, no more problems and I had some fun with my dremel (wear eye protection unless you want shards of metal in your eyes and also don't get the cheapo cut-off wheel discs, they snap in seconds, get the big (1.5incher) thicker one)..

yeah I guess that makes sense, oh well, anyways, it sucked.. frickin cheap-*** eBay intakes.. but hey, now that it's FIXED permanently, I am glad I only spent $40 on it, rather than $199 + tax like they wanted at a speed shop here in town for an AEM CAI..
