For Those With Hotshot Headers........

Yea I went ahead and ordered the hotshot headers for my 2002 maxima, when I called my mechanic to ask him how much for the install, he couldn't give me a price. For the simple fact, he doesn't work on that many maxima's around here(civic's run his shop down), but I know when it's something he is not sure of he charges $55/hour. That's not a bad price if it takes about 3 hours for an install. But I wanted to know those with hotshot headers on an 02-03, how long did it take for the install? Im trying to get a price in my head, so I need a little help. So those with hotshot headers, if you can remember, how much was your install? Thanks.

I'd say it could take anywhere from 4-10+ hours depending on the skill and familarity of the mechanic. The rear manifold will be a pain to get to, installs are usually $500+

I recently heard $450 for Cattman headers and that didn't include relocating the rear 02s to the bpipe, just zip tieing them in the ebay.

Supposedly, it took the mechanic most of a day exclusively working on it, but I doubt that.

We'll I could always go with a warpseed or cattman y-pipe, but im trying to get as much hp out of my maxima as I can. Im also on a budget though. So how much more hp does the whole header system free up than the y-pipes. Thanks.

there is no exact definite number. Every car and engine produces different outputs and then you have to consider what other types of modifications your car has also. You should be in the 230hp+ range

Here's a dyno comparison that Fezzik did...

If you're going for HP, get the headers...

2 hours on a 3.0L to do HS headers, I just did headers on my Maxima- again. I also did a oil change and tranny fluid change in that time. 3.0Ls take a little bit more time than 3.5Ls I think.

2 Hours sounds pretty fast. MY shop charged me for 1.5 hours to install my damn budget b-pipe.

If you don't extend the O2's, all that will happen is the SES light right? Will the car still run the same?

The only headers available right now for our car, 01's, to my knowledge are the Hotshot ones. They run upper $500's i think. Otherwise I guess ebay, but who would take the time to install or pay to install headers, just to take them off and sell them?
