Bulbs In Side Marker Lense???
I have noiced that on some Org members cars the side marker lights are actually working. Is this a mod that they have done or are they supposed to be lit? Obviously the reason I am asking is because mine don't light up. Thanks for the help.

No they don't light up when I turn on the headlights or the parking lights. I have not done any rewire mods to these so I know that I did screw up wiring. I will be changing them to clear markers here soon and may turn the turn signal mod at that time. But for now I need to make sure they work.

Just like maxilvr06 said...... check the bulbs and make sure they're not blown. Also make sure you're getting power to those sockets. If you know someone with some basic electrical knowledge they will beable to help you out.

I will do that tomorrow morning. Not to sound dumb but how do I get to the bulbs. I looked at the earlier today and the lenses look like they pop out but I didn't want to break them.

I know enough about wiring so I should be okay there. Just needed to make sure this wasn't a mod I needed to buy additional parts for.

i've seen a lot of maxima's with no side markers, simply because the stock bulbs are garbage and burn easily. these people i see driving max's are old and don't modify their cars. they just drive it, and i swear, 50% of them have burned out sidemarkers.

I'm not sure about a 2000 model, but on my 03 you can get to the front bulbs from inside the wheel well by pulling back the plastic well insert. You can get to the back bulbs from the trunk. I did the side marker mod and mine flash with the turn signals. I love it. They flash together in the day time, and flash alternately at night.

Make it easy for yourself, go to to the nearest automotive store and look through their bulb lists...usually electronic lists.

i had all 4 go out within a wekk of each other... that was lame. I made some ooglie stock clears and then from the left over LEDs i had from Dr. Roys write up, I installed 4 leds into the side markers. Bright as hell, but not legal. its more of a PC issue here in CALI though.
