Strut/spring combo...a must?

Strut/spring combo...a must?

i brought my car to the shop today to get my suspension checked out...long story short i need new struts....but the guy told me i could either get oem or aftermarket and i dont have to change my stock springs...but i herd on the org that u gotta chnage the springs??? whos right??

You don't need to change the springs, but aftermarket springs will stiffen up the ride a bit, not to mention give you better handling. I'd personally put the money towards an aftermarket suspension since you need to have your struts replaced anyways. It'll save you the hastle later if you were already planning on lowering you car.

Like already said before me... ya don't have to... but if ya want to upgrade the suspension competely, just do it all...

thnx for the info but if its not mandatory that aftermarket struts gotta go woith springs then i think im gunna swap the struts ....thnx again for the info

You do not need to change the springs if you go with aftermarket struts. If you upgrade just the struts and keep the stock springs your handling will improve. Not as much as a spring strut combo but a noticeable difference.

its not a matter of lasting its a matter of wear and tear...i turned 70K on my car n they guy sed its about time but i also bought my car in bk and on the carfax the other owner lived in queens so between all the potholes that ******* hit they need to be changed
