it has something to do with the circular rear lights, not all rear ends without plates look like neons.

I like the look, especially with the 00-01 tails. If it came this way none of you would be complaining that it looks like a neon, and i'm sure you would all still have bought your Maxes. It's different, something not many have done, isn't supposed to be about originality? Looks good to me but just my .02.

it looks ok... but I like mine how it is. I am very anti-front/rear end conversions. i.e. S15 silvia front end on a 240sx. JDM integra on a USDM integra, etc.

I don't like the photochopped tail at all. I don't think the 4th gen looks bad, but I prefer the way my 5.5th gen tail looks over that picture. It would be an interesting mod, but there are a lot of us who don't think it's an improvement in the looks department. That's why a lot of us haven't tried it. Personally, even if I did like it, I would spend my time, money, and effort on performance mods before I started acting like a "compact sport truck" driver by screwing around with my license plate positioning.

What?

So... by that logic, the 6th gen is called the 6th gen because it's the same "design" as the 5/5.5th gen? I simply don't understand what you're trying to say here.

he means, somebody photoshop this cause it will look nasty, here is another thought, i'm from mass so our license plates are pretty standard color, white with red lettering, but some license plates are god awful, this is another reason i think having the plate in the middle could kinda ruin the trunk piece, for instance, a hawaiin license plate on a black max = ugly. Anyone live in a state with an ugly license plate?

Send me the picture

Sure I'll look at the picture of the car if you want to send it to me. I am new to the site but I do own a 1996 Maxima (4 Gen) and I like the look of it so I will be happy to give you my opinion. If you have posted it somewhere online or on this site let me know where I can find it. thanks.

Hi Maxrocket96
Please think twice before you decide to bump a old thread. Otherwise welcome and remember the search function is your best friend for the time being.

At first glance it could have just been a very slow progressing thread

Hey it looks not bad, I love it!

I think if the shape of the place for the plates were smaller and more like the way the concave is for the 4th gen it would look better. The concave for the plates is big to fill up the space on the trunk but if you were to make it smaller like the way it is on the 4th gen it might look better.

I don't like it.

I do hate the fact that our trunk lid is a freaking Bulliten board for stuff. The worst part is, the thing that would make it look the nicest is just debadging the burger, and that's a pain in the butt.

But that just looks freaking dumb IMO

Interesting I35 front end conversion...
