Since I have cloth in the car, I don't really have to deal with caring for leather... However, now that my car has been baking in the sun for the past few days (we apparently skipped spring in NJ), I've been thinking about the steering wheel..

#1.. is it real leather? [it's the same material as the stock auto shifter]
#2.. Regardless, how should one care for it, so that it doesn't crack... (if you look really closely, you can already begin to see hairline cracks)

I read someplace the steering wheel is leather. I have leather interior, so, I hit it with Lexol leather cleaner and preservative while doing the rest of the interior.

I would assume yours is leather...
