help a 4th gener with the 5th gen oem differences

well im in the market to buy some 5th gen wheels but there is one specific type that im looking for. i want the 5th gen 17s that dont have a large center cap but have the open lug nuts. so my question is which year(s) was this wheel available in?

i am 99% sure the 02-03 have the open lugnuts...the 00-01 had the center cap which hides the lugnuts.

i am not totally sure on that one i know they are on the SE's and on some GLE's not sure about GXE's....hence i am an 00 driver with 16's....

the TEs come with dark chrome finish, or hyper silver. it looks pretty nice imo. and its only for 02-03.

Try to find the 03 TE (TE was only run in '03). Either way, if you get '02 or '03 rims, you'll have more clearance for break upgrades (rotors and calipers) than the '00 and '01 rims.

why is that? both have 45mm offset, so why would the clearance be better on 02/03 ?
