Who makes the stock shocks?
Just a interesting thought, about the stock on the SE. Who makes them, is it Nissan make their own struts or it is usually third party vendor. Since I'm asking cuz when I was working on my other car that the Mercedes uses Bilstein shocks which they are very good shocks. I wonder the same about Nissan's.

Reaffirming NYC TAR-- Tokico does make the stock shocks on probably most Nissan cars. AFAIK they're built to Nissan's design and specifications (i.e. Nissan designs them and Tokico builds them I guess), but Tokico has their own line of upgrade shocks which can be used on the Maxima (Tokico High Performance aka "Blues", and the Illumina 5-way adjustables... I have the Illuminas and love 'em. Illuminas are a step up from the Blues, and the Blues are a step up from the stock shocks)
I've heard Tokico shocks are known to have a characteristic "feel" to them, e.g. the "crashing" sensation after hitting a hard bump (shocks stiffen up significantly on impact, causing harshness)... Never driven a car with Bilstein shocks, sounds like they're pretty good though?
