I was reading the thread about the hose that works from
the bottom of the fuel filler cap that is missing on the
2k1 model......some said that was on oversight and some
said it isn't included. now i can't find it. what's the final word?
any info would help me fight with the crappy service dept
i have to deal with.
thanks in advance

I think that "officially" (according to Nissan that is) the part is considered unnecessary and therefore not found a ton of 2k1 Maximas (and some 2ks I think?)... It seems to be up to each individual dealer to decide whether or not to put the part on for you and whether or not to charge you the $25 for it.

The thread you're referring to can be found on the second page of the sticky "FAQ-U". Here is the direct link...

Also, no hose is missing. It's the shield/cover/whatever you want to call it to go over the exposed fuel line.

djmaxski is correct in that it should be a low-cost "repair".

Good Luck.
