New brakes for 2K1 SE

Well I have just hit for 57,000 miles and I am getting thed squeeky sound from my wheels so it's time to change those breaks. I havent really had any trouble with rotors, but I guess I would get them sharpened. So, which breaks should I be getting to replace the oem ones? Should I just get new OEM brakes, if so, from where? I think there was a web site posted somewhere where you can get OEM brakes for a discount for org members, any1 know what Im talking about? Is it even worth it to get OEM breaks, or should I go with some cheaper aftermarket ones? I would search but I can't Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone for your time.

The OME brakes are inadequate, most people have problem with warping. I decided to change my brakes on 01 SE with SSBC. The reason is that I want to keep my OME 17” wheels (most big brakes kits require larger wheels) and I wanted to replace the single piston sliding calipers with at least dual piston aluminum caliper.

OEM rotors and pads are not worth keeping on your vehicle. I replaced my brakes about a year ago with Brembo Drilled and Slotted Rotors, along with Axxis Ultimate Ceramic pads and haven't looked back. I love the look of the D/S rotors and the Ceramic pads work great. I have little of no fade in my braking, even from high speeds and the ceramic pads don't produce a lot of dust. The ceramic pads are designed to dissapate heat better and used in combination with the D/S rotors, it keeps your braking system much cooler. Heat is what ruins brakes and causes warpping in the rotors. If you can keep the braking system cool, you will get better performance and longer life.

Don't buy OEM. Find a good deal on a set of rotors and ceramic pads. You won't be sorry. I bought mine off Ebay. Paid a little over $300.00 for rotors and pads.

hmmm. Can I buy those Ceramic brakes now to use with my exisisting rotors assuming I am able to re-surface them, and then later on Ill buy the brembo rotors. The problem is tha tI just spent $700 replace all four of my tires and I have no $$$ left to change brakes and rotors. I have the sound coming fro mth ewheel telling me I need to replace the brakes, and the guys changing my tires said that they where 3/4 gone. Only 1.4 left. So what do you guys think? Which pads can I be using with the stock rotors? Thanks.

Re-surfaceing rotors will cost you more then blank ones from any auto parts store, so nto worth it, but you should be fine just putting on new brake pads, go with the ceramics, they are a little more expensive, but less brake dust which means cleaner rims, unless when you brake your steering wheel shakes then your rotors are warped, what you could try is putting on the new pads and just drive NORMALY for atleast 2 weeks so that the pads even the rotors out cause unless you drive your car like a rally car you rotors shouldn't be warped.
