Why don't you look for a 6-speed 02/03. A few more features and toys to play with on top of the bigger displacement engine.

If you're set on the 00/01, look for an AE/SE model. My girlfriend has an 01 Majestic Blue AE and has had no problems compared to my 03, but I make use of all the 3.5 liters.

I'll second the AE/SE model (2001). Beautiful car and not too expensive if you have the patience of looking around for the perfect one. You can't go wrong with either one you choose in 5th gen though. I will admit that if I could afford it, I would get a 2003 3.5 6 speed.

to answer your question, you deffinatly need to inquire about the big 3.

1. Has or when was the MAF(mass air flow sensor) replaced?
2. Were the ignitino coils replaced? If so how many? (hope that its all 6)
3. Were the O2 sensors replaced.

from what i know or have seen, those are the biggest 3 problems to look for.

paint chips paint chips paint chips. Find them on the car, you will, and when you do get a quote from an autobody place to fix it and have the dealer take that off of the price tag. :-D
