About Mossy Exhaust
I keep on gettting a P420 code on my 01 maxima, and I was thinking of replaceing the exhaust, But My question is the Mossy Exhaust come with a highflow cat converter or does it get rid of it? If it get's rid of it where does the senor go than?
What is needed?
A cattman y-pipe
High Flow Cat Converter
Mossy Exhaust System
Or is the High Flow Cat Converter not Needed?
Thanks

p0420 is a bank 1 sensor 2 code, which is the o2 sensor on the y-pipe and has nothing to do with a mossy exhaust system.
the mossy exhaust system should feature a full catback, which is everything after the catalytic converter

Would a Catman y-pipe be a good replacement than I could change the sensor all 1 time?
Do the catman y-pipe have the correct input of place a sensor on it?
How much is the sensor?
So I can see what I am getting into.

Y pipe will not fix your problem, try www.o2simulator.com wire it up, clear the code and it shouldnt come back. Mossy does NOT get rid of the cats, it does have a bung for 02 sensor that goes behind the main cat for the Fed spec 00 Maximas. 01s do not have this sensor, so you just plug that hole up with a bolt thats provided with the exhaust.

The o2Simulator, Where would you wire that up exactly? So all you do is splice up the wires and leave it pluged in and the check engine light should go off.
I am ordering one right now.
But I still looking into the Exhaust and The Y-pipe,
Which is the best one that allows the most flow and creates the most HP.

hey siren001 nice to see another hawaiian braddah. I was born and raised in Kalihi and Palolo. How's the surf eh? As far as your car the 02 simulator should take care of the light. I reccomend saving up a bit and going full headers. It is a great investment. I did it with full exhaust all the way out. It frees up a lot of HP. Makes the max feel like a sports car. If you are just looking for a little more get up then the Y-pipe is the way to go. I know Cattman comes highly recomended. Good luck on the mods. It's an addictive hobby.

What year is your car? If ya have a 00-01, then go with Budget, Cattman, Stillen, or Warpspeed... if ya have a 02-03, then go with Stillen, Budget, or Cattman. There is no "best" y-pipe.
02-03s do not gain as much hp with a y-pipe than the 00-01s because the pre-cats are in the manifold and not the y-pipe. From what I've seen, 00-01s get about 12 whp from a y-pipe and 02-03s get about 8 whp (if even). If you have an 02-03, just get headers for the most gains.

P0420 IS NOT a sensor. this is a catalyst inefficiency(failed pre-cats), pertaining to the no. 1 bank the P0430 is for bank no.2, i have gotten both and they come on from time to time randomly as to which one. erase the code and see if it comes back. a possible source of this is if you just replaced O2 sensors either upstream or downstream, but not both, the sensors could be reading off from each other in such a way as to trigger a code

Any suggestions? Isn't bank 1 in the engine bay? so would that sensor be bad? Or should I just put the 02simulator on the 2nd one and see if the code goes off or is it a waste of time and money?
I did order the simulartor
