Weighted shift *****

Okay, so Im at work and bored. Anyway....I got to looking around and doing some investigating on the weighted shift *****. I figured I was getting the STS, might as well look at a ****. But what are the benefits of a weighted shift ****? does it just help with the throw? Ive been looking online for one to work with our 6spds, but I cant seem to find one because of that damn reverse lockout!

comments?.........

The heavier shift **** does definitely help getting the car into and out of gear. I use a Greddy counterweight shift **** and I love it. I know Skunk2 released their weighted shift **** for the 6 spd Acura/Hondas and that one is heavier than mine..

Hopefully you all won't have the same problem I had. I used to have a nice heavy shift **** on my STS but after a couple years the bushings in the shift links wore a little and loosened up. I ended up with a slight rattle. So I put the stock shift **** back on and problem solved. Must've been some sort of weird harmonic since you would think adding weight would've dampened the system, but it ended up the other way around.

Okay, my next question is....do they make anything to add weight to an aftermarket shift ****? Or...is there a certain item you can buy and add to the inside of the **** from like home depot or something?

thanx

The Skunk2 is 440 Grams which is 15.5 oz and the Greddy is 13.5 oz so the difference is very slight and probably won't make a difference, not to mention the Skunk2 is horribly ugly.

cause all the little civics I know around town have them, so that qualifies. And it just has that "As Seen in the Fast and Furious!" look to them. Blah!
