They don't haggle much on price, but they did knock a hundred or so bucks off of their already below-book price.

Hey Polak, why don't you sell sooner your car for a good price so you can buy an STI already?

Jason, my sympathies! I know how heartbroken you must be - I lost the first car I bought (Audi 5000S) to another person's mistake... I hope they total it since that is your wish. But if they do, pull your performance and detail parts first!!!!

Adding another white Max to the thread,
David

That looks pretty bad, but I don't think it's totaled. At least you didn't get hurt. That's the most important thing.

It doesn't look totaled...the radiator is bent and so is the support...that's all i can see from the pix...there is lots of cosmetic damage but it's repairable.

you can have them for free...but all the brackets are broken and they have huge wide scratches on them.

just got back from going to see her i took her flowers
got all my stuff out of it and yanked the AE door sills and engine cover. i still need to go get the intake, FSTB, and RSB if its totaled. im probably not gonna deal with removing the y-pipe since it was only $160. not worth the trouble.

but i did realize something
i had to replace my TCM a few months ago. im going to take it out and put the original one back it. the new one is worth $700

Good job - when I was much younger the same basic thing happened to me, a woman went from stopped to left turn in front of me in a parking lot. I was pissed so was pretty wound up, and the other driver became "scared" so she went to wait for the police with the only two witnesses (stupid of me to let that happen). And surprise, by the time the police arrived the witnesses reported I was going "too fast" and it turned into no-fault. This in a convenience store parking lot, in a miniature rent-a-car with a lawn mower engine...sigh.

Learned my lesson, next time someone hit me I kept my mouth shut.

UPDATE

just got off the phone with her insurance company and they admit "their policy holder was at fault" like there wasnt a police report and three witnesses that told me that.
since i didnt feel like waiting around for them i started it with my company. they are sending me a check for my deductable and USAA the money for my rental car.
extent of damage will be determined next week.

Sooner, why are you removing all of your mods if you don't know about the status of the car yet? Are you really that confident it's going to be totalled?

For all of you vultures......IF the car ends up being totaled, and IF Jason is parting out some of his mods....I have first dibs on AE doorsills, engine cover, and whatever else I want, since I drove my a@@ 15 miles to pick him up from the accident scene and chauffered him home.

BTW jason, don't forget to get that wheel bearing out of your trunk. I want it back since maybe now you won't need it (and did you ever pay me for it? )

Amen. My 99 SE-L had to be in the shop for a week and the ins company gave me an Envoy and those suckers suck gas like a fat girl does donuts... I paid $42 in gas in 3 DAYS!!! It would have been cheaper for me to fill it up. And the pick-up on them is horrid. It sucks ****. You don't know how good you have it until you get a really crappy gas mileage car and then you wonder why anyone that doesn't own a gas company would ever buy the Envoy.

Just a heads up Sooner: There's a blue 02 Maxima SE (black leather int, Bose, moonroof and Navi) for sale near me. Caveat: 4AT. But it looked to be in great condition. Although Somerville, NJ doesnt exactly border Fairfax, Va., it's only about a 4hr drive.

Damn...that sucks! Glad you're alright. The car doesn't look "that" bad considering what happened, but I wouldn't be surprised if the $$$ amount results in the car being considered a total loss. Damn...
