Oil from an over oiled K&N, poor MAF design, excessive vibration, and my theory-- too many WOT which expose the wire in the MAF to too many higher voltages over and over again--- lead to failure. It has happend to people with a stock intake and those with aftermarket intakes, so having a cold air intake isn't to blame.

Mostly, but not all of em... many people, myself included, have had no problems as of yet... I've had a K&N panel filter and a Berk w/K&N since the first month of owning the car and haven't had any MAF problems yet....

Me too. Berk intake w/ K&N oiled filter here. No problems with my MAF so far. Knock on wood.

I don't know on the 00+ max but the 01 I30 airbox has a hole in it after the filter where a factory cable tie mounts to. I wasn't able to determine if this hole can cause unfiltered air to enter the intake since the air box slot isn't big enough for me to see if the hole is chambered off. Sure would be a bad design if it isn't. Just to be on the safe side I plugged up the hole with some silicone sealer.

Wow, you posted this in 5 threads instead of using . I think that you will finally be the one to surpass 2DaMax in sheer stupidity and ignorance...congrats, I never though the day would come.

What does this have to do with MAF sensors? AE kits aren't that hard to find. Maybe you should post RELEVANT information to reach your 15 post goal. Then you can post a WANT ad in the classified section.

I don't think he is referring to the "Anniversary Edition" kit, but for this guy it would be more the "@$$hole Everytime" kit. This totally has nothing to do with mafs. wtf?

I can only agree with the other members that some mafs are just made that way and tend to go bad. Knock on wood, (pearldiamonds head if he was standing next to me) but I have not yet had to deal with a bad mafs yet and hopefully that won't happen, but then again if it does I have the extended warranty til 100K (only have 60K so far). I guess it's just more the luck of the draw. Take for example, pearldiamond, you think he had a choice for the brain he got. Probably not!

Oh btw, does anyone know where I can find a great pair of gym shoes? Not that I need them for myself, but they would mainly be in PearlDiamond's @$$. Good luck with that "AE" kit fool!
