Always been interested in the Maxima, and with the new Altima hitting dealers in the fall as well as a more powerful Maxima, I assume the deals are gonna be great. Couple of the online auto places are hinting the average price for a new Max in my area (Boston) is slightly below invoice. Assuming the deals will get better as the end of summer approaches? Are people getting Maximas at invoice?

Any real-world feedback would be great as well, especially on the SE manual transmission model. Was in a late-model GLE this past weekend. The date went well, so hopefully I'll be able to test drive it thoroughly next time I see her (the car, not the girl!), tehe. It was an automatic however.

I got mine for 300 under invoice, which I don't think is a bad deal considering that the dealer had to ship it from out of state for over 300 miles. The only gripe about it that I had was that they stuffed the 6 CD changer down my throat at "dealer" cost...which I think my 300 under invoice went in to cover.

Over all, I'm happy with my deal.

Good luck!

Just got a new Silver Mist 01 Maxima SE Auto w/ C + C and mudflaps, rugs, sun deflect & micro filter for $23,699 w/ 3.9% finance and $800 over kelley blue book for my trade-in on April 23rd just outside of Philly. I figure, i paid atleast a $1000 under dealer invoice if you include the trade-in PLUS THE 3.9% TO BOOT!
Just wish they had the Grey Lustre w/ charcoal cloth.

Looks like www.edmunds.com target real-world price is right on then! The 3.9% financing ends May 31st, wondering if Nissan will improve the rate and/or start offering a factory rebate. I should post this in the New England forum, but does anybody have good leads for dealers within a couple of hours of Boston?

Three issues about the car that I'm concerned about, mainly from the 2000 Maxima crowd. Namely, rotors warping in under 10K and the bucking/hesitation at low speeds with the manual. Both (I think) are TSBs, do they occure in the 2001 model year as well? Paint issues also seem to be causing some people trouble Any particular color causing more trouble than others? Thanks again!

I just purchased mine for 7% interest, 6 year financing and I only paid $26 even for it. Fully loaded, leather, all the bells and whistles, 17's, etc, new. Got the extended warranty for $800. I feel like I got a good deal but not sure. I'm happy just hate the payment for 6 years. Trying to get it paid off in 4 so that I can buy the 6th generation maxima when it comes out!

You definitely should be able to do it under invoice. IMO, you should try to go at least $500 below invoice. You'll have better luck if you wait a bit longer because they will need to get rid of them 2K1s after the 2K2 Max and Altima comes out in August/September. Good luck.

I hear yeah mbcp_tdogg. Won't seriously start looking for deals until August. Aiming for at least 1K under invoice, easily reached if corporate starts dolling out factory rebates.
