Raditator Fan Chatter
Radiator Fan Chatter
This morning when I stopped the car to park and usually the radiator fan goes ON but today the left fan chattered continously. Is it on the way to going down or can it be saved!!!
The sound is like "Tac-Tac-Tac". I turned off the car and rotated the fan to see if something is stuck in the fan to obstruct the rotation, the rotation was good. I need to check one thing though... Need to see if 12V is coming to the fan.
Do these plastic fans have any parts that need lubrication?

I removed the fan assembly and removed the motor and the hard casing over it and cleaned it with brake cleaner and everything is fine now.
The motor is sealed inside the casing and found some dirt and the springs connecting the motor to the mount may have been dislodged, put the springs back into place.
After the cleaning the motor blows better than the uncleaned one. Good exercise for an hr.
