When I floor it

When I floor it
When I floor it, the car SHOULD usually start to zoom... but for some reason lately it accelerates REALLY SLOWLY (when I floor it)... its basically like, the RPM's shoot up and I can hear the engine getting loud, but the car doesn't move as fast...
Example... If I'm doing anywhere between 25-40mph, and I floor it, it should grab and just start flying down the road... Same issue on the highway, If I'm doing 70-85mph, and I floor it, it doesnt feel like its shooting out even though I can hear it...
But vice versa... if I push the pedal half way down, I can feel the car grab and then just shoot like a rubberband...
It's really scary when I floor it on the highway trying to switch lanes or merge.
Ideas or thoughts? Is there something I can do to fix it or help it out by doing anything?
I have a 00 Max. Auto GLE, Cold Air Intake, 128k miles.
Thanks, Ni.

friend of mine bought adn installed a factory rebuilt tranny for 1900 and like 3 hours of labor. the thing is our cars dont usually pull harder if floored, they usually pull more when given throttle lil by lil.

Hold on maybe its not shot, did you have the tranny oil changed recently and never before if so you might wanna let it set in, but you may also need to change the tranny oil
have it flushed completly, if that doesnt work the your tranny is most likely shot
ps if its shot why not just spend a little extra and get a 5spd dropped in

i had the same problem i think. my mass air flow sensor was basically sandblasted cuz there was a problem with my air filter, so it was all messed up. so, i got a new one and the car was reborn. pissed me off for a long time, thought i needed a new tranny, but it ended up not bein that. im not sure if your having the same problem. the car was fine undder about 3k rpm, then after that it seemed like the tranny was slipping. also, the car sometimes shut down. hope this helps.

that hard grab your looking for is still in the car, its mainly from the dohc in the vq, u may need to catch it at a perfect rpm, because your trans is programed (learned thru the ecu) to how you drive your car. ur cams r gonna help your rpm's shoot up and then the car will pull thru. try to not just womp on the pedal , but as you're doin lets say 40mph, then step on the gas about an inch or so, you'll feel a kick and then give it more gas as you push the pedal down n then you should feel another kick. it's how u drive your car, you'll understand once u try this.

you should be able to stomp on the gas and have no problem with the tranny or acceleration

I am having a similar problem, when my car is cold and I'm driving it holds in first for a little too long and then jumps into the next gear. It is a 2000 gle auto with 87,000 miles on it. Has a new MAF and a trans fluid change. After I drive the car for a few miles the problem does go away.

it might just be the transmission control module (TCM)
there is a TSB for it. basically the computer isnt telling the tranny when to make shifts so it delays everything.
i had to replace my TCM a few months ago. if my car ends up being totaled up going to pull out the new upgraded TCM and put the old one back in. i will be selling it (value is $700 but i'll sell it for less)
