Driver side HID not working?

When I turn on the lights it comes on for a few seconds, turns purplish, and shuts off. Is the bulb bad? If so where can I get a replacement and how much are they? I am under warranty but trying to avoid the dealer. Thanks in advance.

wow..i thought these things were supposed to last really long...it could be the ballast or the bulb, or even a bad harness...sorry but HID lighting isnt exactly my specialty and i'm just taking a wild stab at it...if you're under warranty, i would say just take it to the dealer (yes i know they are a PITA..i have had tons of bad experiances) because they will diagnose the problem and hopefully fix it...

I think the connection between the bulb and connector is loose. I had HIDs on my Accord (aftermarket Philips kit) and I when was testing it, I didnt attach the bulb to the connector securely, and the bulb did the same thing yours is doing now. Just take a look behind the headlight housing, and see if you find anything unusual.

i was going to suggest the same thing before taking it to the stealer...THEN if you cant find anything wrong, go ahead and get it looked at professionally...

I bought mine off an org member for $40. You can get it at the dealer or look if anyone is selling on ebay.

so i guess it was just the bulb huh? i had messed mine up trying to do the DDE install, the bulb touched the metal and POOF it was gone. I'll be suprised if they pay for it. I tried saying i didnt touch it but they insisted i had to pay
