well...lets just say the yukon killed me...but i have an excuse...i had 3 friends and my system in the car (3 x 150=450 + 100=550lbs. of extra weight)...so anyways, i talked to the guy at my school w/ the yukon and he has some basic engine mods and a supercharger w/ only 5 lbs. of boost...his best run at the track so far has been 15.4 and mine was a 15.5 (it was hot out and it was my last run of the night...my engine was warm...i hope i can get that good of a launch when my engine is cool...anyways) so i'm going to keep bugging him to race me again or maybe i'll get him to come to the track w/ me...i'll post results...just wanted to let everyone know...i lost...waaaaa...i have beat supercharged suburbans before so this was somewhat of a change...i'll have to add another car to my loss list...o well, it's late, i'm babbling, just thought i'd vent on my loss

Lesson learned...."Don't under estimate any ride" "Don't [Race] with people and weight in the car ever!" Aside from the weight issue it really isn't a good idea to race on the street or track with anyone in your car at high speeds, braking and cornering. Just want to have the most control of my car and don't want to be the one responsible for my friends if there is an accident.... sometimes you gotta turn down a race or just say "no" :-)

 

we didn't even get upto 50mph before some guy cut both of us off...and it is much better to have someone in your car in cornering (thats why at auto cross events you should have someone in your car to even out the weight)...i normally don't race on the street...i used to a lot, but i have really slowed down and i only race in areas that i know with cars that are worth racing...back when i first got the car, i would race anything that would race me...now i am a little picker and i only race cars that are either close races, or cars that can whoop my @$$...no more slow people for me...i might do a few more things to my car but i doubt i'll be putting boost on it anytime soon

Talking about racing...this guy in a Camero once tried to race me. He had a chick friend in the car with him. I was just stopped at the light happily waiting for the light to turn green. He reves his engine, I looked over and he was gesturing that we should race...But the funny thing was that at that time, I was still driving my Green little Sentra! I'm sure it would have been impressive to show his chick friend that he can beat a Sentra!

To this date, I have not raced anyone...yet

i raced the same green yukon twice and a black suprised the hell out of me when i could'nt pull away until the end of third gear.

 

Thats why I carry a shotgun when racing. If they start to pull on me, they lose a tire. Haven't lost yet! :vampire:
