no, dont waste your time. the ae does have a different part number on the b pipe and ecus but you are better off going with aftermarket for better flow. start with a y pipe if you want the best bang for the buck.

It's a marketing gimmick with an engine cover and a muffler.

i personally did not and would not get a car for a 5hp difference. i got it because of the extras it came with mostly the body kit. i also got it for what most were paying for regular se, nice to know the owner of the dealership.

he does not work there. he owns the dealership. i pay a flat amount over their actual invoice, not the window sticker. you would be amazed at what they pay for some of them.

You can't deny that he must hook some people up...but dealers build businesses up by taking all they can get for what they got...old habits die hard/ gotta lead by example and all that.

So, what's a "flat amount over their actual invoice" on the Max? What was sticker on yours and how much, out the door?

sticker was either high 29 or low 30. i paid south of 24k with no trade in or 100k/7yr gold warranty with no deductible. it had 14 miles on it when i took delivery.

i says 5 hp more, but between the extra chrome, emblems, and the body kit the weight has to make the AEs slower than SEs.... anyone have the actual weights?

extra chrome? Nothing on that car is chromed out. Extra emblems? Show me where. The body kit is not going to make a world of difference.

5hp more is so broad. 5hp at which specific point in the powerband or is it the entire powerband overall? If its just one little spike its not going to make any difference.

It's not real

The extra 5hp the AE has over the SE is just about as magical a number as the 15 hp that the 2k2 SE Max has over the 2K2 SE Altima. It is a marketing ploy used to sell cars. Don't believe me check out the dyno numbers posted on Altimas.net compared to our Maxima dynos. And yes I am talking non modified stock cars.

the 5hp is cool and all but it really does not make a big difference, imo you would still be side by side with a regular 00-01 if it's auto vs auto! stock for stock! i have an ae and ran side by side with a regular 00-01! oh the other thing is for the exhaust on the ae, yeah it is different and that's where the hp diff is, but they make the ae all fancy dancy inside with shifter, pedals, door sills but the only nice feature missing on the ae would be some nice chrome tips for the stock muffler! wtf? all the regular max's i see have the nice tip with the the longer oval tip n u can see the two tips, but with the ae they just let it go with the regular piping as the tips. i did put my own chrome tips on but , i just think nissan coulda done something with the ae tips besides leavin them the way they are! just my.02, dont mind my beeching!
