Blehmco FRONT AND REAR BBK installed (PICS)
what up org. I don't get on the org much at all anymore and have had the front bbk on for awhile now and just last week finished the rear. I'm using Performance friction pads up front and raybestos quiet stop pads in the rear. Got the slotted/drilled rotors from Irotors and am using ATE super blue racing fluid.
As for stopping power it's a hell of a lot better than stock. It's a lot smoother and you can acually feel the brakes grip. There is a little roar when braking hard because of the slots and holes in the rotors rubbing on the pads.
Pedal feel is a little softer, but you get used to it. I went from a stock brake system of 4 pistons total in the calipers to 12 pistons. There is more fluid to push so yeah.... expect a softer pedal if you're going to use the stock brake booster.
I'm really surprised nobody has the rear brakes already so I guess I'm the first one to actually put them on. I found some errors in Matt's instuctions for installing the rear, but they were just minor washer placement errors. The rear install needs to be done by someone that is pretty mechanically inclined with brake work. It's pretty indepth. I did both the front and rear install myself, but I also work on cars for a living.
The new ebrake that has to be used with the 300zx rear brakes isn't as good as our stock ebrake, but works okay. The lever is a lot firmer and you really have to pull it up to hold the car on a hill.
Okay now for the pics...

joeyd my total price for the front and rear was somewhere around $1800
A33 VQ30DEK - It took me about 10 hrs to install the rear brakes. Running the ebrake cables alone took me a good 3.5 hrs. I bet I could do another install in less than half the time, but since it wasn't just a straight swap I took my time.

I'll price out the parts by memory...
front/rear BBK brakets - $800
Irotors - $320
front calipers $350
rear calipers and pads - $170
front pads/ fluid/ speed bleaders - $120
GR2 paint - $35
TOTAL - $1795
Smooth braking that grabs and the looks from other drivers.... priceless

Wildman: I have a 6th Gen Max. Do you think that 300zx calipers will fit, either bolt on or maybe with adaptor bracket, and do you think it would be worthwhile and make a difference for a 6th gen Max?

Have you noticed that the car lost some acceleration with those POS IRotors ? How bout the weight ehh ? Rolling resistance from those 04 Maxima rotors is HUGE- 24lbs each for the fronts compared to like 10lbs of the OEM brakes. I'm currently waiting for my custom 2 piece rotors from Matt that should weight around 9-10lbs to give me my acceleration back. I'm doing my rear brake upgrade soon also, but for now I'm waiting for the new front rotors. I estimate my 4 wheel brake setup will set me back around 2200 bux with my custom light weight rotors.
IROTORS SUCK !!! They warp eassy with hard braking, what do you expect from chinesse made rotors that cost bout the same as OEM Nissan blanks.
3 thumbs up on the bling look

OEM rotors with Hawk HPS pads, break the pads in right and you will NEVER warp a stock rotor again. People have this missconception that stock rotors are bad, but everyone whos complained bout them has ran OEM pads with OEM rotors. I have had Hawk HPS pads on my OEM rotors for 60K miles, they dust less than OEM pads, do not squeal and stop better and better with more and more heat you put on them. I actually think my OEM rotors and Hawk pads stopped better than my IRotors 04 Max Cross drilled and slotted rotors, Hawk HPS pads and TTZ calipers with Blehmco brackets. I raced my car with the OEM rotors and Hawk pads and even when stopping on a track from 120MPH I had no vibration from the rotors, and my OEM rotors lasted me 50K miles of HARD driving before I switched to these POS IRotors.
You can get these pads from TireRack.com for cheap.
