HKS Cat Back

does anyone have the HKS Cat Back from SCO? its $200 cheaper than the cattman and if it is similar, i will go with it.

If anyone has it; how loud is it and are there any HP gains?

Does it stack up against the Cattman Cat Back?

the nissan system cost $1900 through my dealer (y-pipe, catt, and cattback) so i figure i might want to get some gains if i am gonna replace the pipes (stock is starting to leak and get holes, damn the North East). i am also going to put on the HS Headers.

I thought HKS only made a rear section... not a cat-back...

Cat-back = from catalytic converter back (b-pipe + rear section)

Rear section = axle back or muffler with piping to b-pipe

rear section = muffler only no b-pipe
cat back = b pipe + muffler

i don't even see any HKS applications for the maxima.

look on sportcompactonly.com they have a rear section available (in the cat-back section) for a 00-01 maxima.

I got it from a member on the org. It wasn't in very good shape, but I sanded and polished it to its current state. The sound is very deep and HKS quality is excellent. At idle, it has a low hum. When my friend drives my car, I can't even hear the car unless it's in WOT. This is with a GAB, y and b-pipe also.

Yeah you got Gooey's... it does sound good... I've heard it on his car... kinda sounds like the Mossy/Cattman, IMO...

I have the HKS rear section only. I chose it over the Stillen when mufflers were first available for our cars. It looks like the stocker on steroids. I love this muffler, it has a nice deep sound at low RPM and it practically disappears at high RPM, unless you are flooring the thing. It has a sweet hum at idle, just a little louder and a lot deeper than stock. I love it because it is so close to stock looks. I wasn't a big fan of the Stillen rear section because it was a one tip design. Gains are what is to be expected by a rear section. Slight increase in HP, engine breathes better, and the sound is phenominal. IMO it is the best looking and sounding muffler for the Maxima.

This is a picture from the day after I put it on that is kind of what you are looking for. If you are wondering, that is my roommate's WRX. The muffler was slightly crooked because my left exhaust hanger was ripped, and making it hang lower than it should. I got two new hangers from autozone later that week.

so these are older pix before the new hangers? If so, does that mean the tips come up close to the bumper with the new hangers?
