Who Has A Protorque Converter . . . .
Do any of yall have the Protorque torque converter (Part # PTC DA39-SS) on your maxima? If so how do you like it and do you feel it was worth the $395? What type of increase in stall speed have you noticed and does it really improve your dead stop take offs? It's my understanding that the stall speed of the OEM torque converter is somewhere in the neighborhood of 1700-2000 rpms, is this correct? I was wanting a TCer with a stall speed in the range of 2800-3200 rpm since this is right at the beginning of my power band but Protorque said they couldn't (or wouldn't) custom build one with that stall speed range. They claim that their TCer will increase my stall speed to somewhere between 2600-3000 rpms which would be great but I'm a little skeptical because one of their other techs told me that their TCer would increase my stall speed range by 300-800 rpms. Any input and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Does Level 10 build their own TCers or do they buy them from Protorque and mark them up $300 (Level 10's price was $698 + $20 S/H).
Thanks,

"20 lbs lighter than stock"? No way... stock weighs about 30 lbs... ProTorque weighs about 30 lbs... so no way L10 weighs 10 lbs.
Buy what you believe will work for you, but I'm definitely getting the ProTorque TC.
