Sorry, this may seem like a stupid question, but is this for the front ONLY? Or could you do botht the front and the rear?

 

you can prolly do the rear upgrade to 6th gens.. but the calipers from the dealer are ridiculous.. probably better to get reman or used rear calipers from an altima or 6th gen maxima..

The whole appeal of this kit is that the brackets allow you to use the OEM 5th gen calipers.

 

As far as I know, yes, this is a front only kit since doing the rears wouldn't really be necessary.

 

thought he was talkin bout upgrading the rear to 6ht gen calipers/rotors and not using brackets with the 5th gen calipers..

 

wow...only 380? sounds good to me! how much of a discount was that? because i have no clue how much i could get 6th gen calipers for..

on a side note....how in the WORLD are you drving in the snow with blowtenzas????

 

hell if i know.. havent had time to get new tires.. sucks *****.. needa change them out soon.. but thinkin bout lowering and puttin on wheels.. dono what tires to get thatll fit other than falken 512s.. 380 is the discount price.. like i said before. .call DaveB

edit: how did the install go? pretty smooth?

 

Install went very smoothly thanks to the help of Blake (Xlcrew) and my sis's boyfriend Jeremy (who always helps me with my projects) -- just make sure you have the right tool to work with the rear calipers.

 

So I take it you didn't like my gunmetal powdercoat job on the brackets?

edit... oh wait.. not sure when I started powdercoating them...

 

Nah, Irish sent me them painted black.

Well, I just went out and got on the brakes and all I can say is WOW! The brake pedal still feels a little mushy but once you get on it, the car stops on a dime. The Wagner ThermoQuiets don't make a peep either which is very nice as well.

 

what would u say is the average life span of these aftermarket quiet pads? i know there are many variables but just wondering besides sound if there's a benefit in longevity vs getting the fully warrantied cheapo's at autozone...

 

Well, first off, these ThermoQuiets were not cheap (81 dollars for the F/R set) and they come with a lifetime warranty. I would imagine that they probably should last about 24-30k miles with no problem.

hey I have 2k4 brakes also, HAHAHAHAHAH....... no sir..


but, I did install ss lines on my stock set up and lets just say it stops alot better when you press the pedal harder.. it tends to dip the nose of the car down at braking.. also I did a test on how good they stopped the car so I sped up to about 60 and slammed on the brakes and the wheels squeeled to a stop (they didn't lock up but they squeeled on and off to a stop).... you could actually hear the tires try and stop the beast...

I highly recommend the install.....

don't forget the ss lines, I dunno if the 2004 max ones fit your car but deff get some info on it, you won't be disapointed.........
