The benifits of a intercooler?

Most aftermarket intercoolers mount just in front of the radiator, so cold air can blast on it to cool the air going into the motor. What happens is when you compress air (such as in a turbo/sc set-up), the air begins to heat up (also in a turbo, you are using hot exhaust gases to spin the turbo). The colder the intake charge, the more power that can be made. An intercooler acts the same way that your radiator works in the sense that it is used to cool down the air going into it, where as your radiator cools down the water passing through your engine. Figured I'd give you a no bullsh*t answer because everyone else was busting your b*lls. Welcome.

I didn't realize Nissan owners were snobs. But then again... these aren't regular owners.
