with stock b-pipe and muffler the sound diffirence is minimal at cruising speeds. you only hear a diffirence at WOT

If you have 3.0 Y-pipe
3.5L headers.

Sound increase is not noticeable at all by the normal driver with either just the y-p[ipe or headers

Don't know where you go the "everyday driver not good with a y-pipe idea" ...

I have a y-pipe on my everyday dirver 3.0 and there are no complaints unless you don't like added HP. When i drive my 03, no complaints either with the headers.

to everything he said.... if ya have a good resonated b-pipe and non-ricey muffler... sound will not be a problem...

I have a Cattman y-pipe and Frankencar cat-back and you can barely tell....

Go walk off a bridge and say someone told you to

Lesson learned : Don't belive someone who doesn't not know or have first hand experience with what is in question.

I second the y pipe suggestion. Don't know how it is for 5th gen 3.0's but my 4th gen friends benefit greatly from the y pipe. All I have is a FC b pipe, can't say it gives too much performance but it sounds nice when you rev it, and only the owner of the car can really notice the diff between that and stock. coupled with an intake though and you'll create noise no matter what.
