Don't they make gauge pods for your car? it will be better to just buy the pods instead of making a mold, it prob. cost the same if not more, but there is no effort involved, unlike making a fiberglass mold yourself.

EDIT: BTW... nice sig pic... did you take the picture of your rims while driving?

Came out good though. I just want to do some custom work. I just put in a switch and it was a lot of fun besides getting the wiring correct. Maxtank has a fiberglassed pillar and it looks pretty sweet. i think it would look cool with the pod in the pillar. Just a little idea.

fiberglass really wasnt as bad as i thought... but it still requires some skill. I think i caught on rather quickly, I only messed up one time. everyone is always telling me to watch out for air bubbles, but never got any!
but this was a more simple project then lets say... doing a trunk for sub boxes. but i actually kind of had fun with the fibeglass... its intresting stuff... messy and smells bad, but intresting.
Almost Done!!!
Well, I made some damn good progress... I am happy to say that the project is nearing completion! the fiberglass enclosure is done, and painted, the radio bezel is done and painted, and same with the TV bezel!
all i need to do now is make my brackets, and hook everything up!
here are some final pics, a lot more are on my photobucket account!

i never said your work was lumpy, i was referring to my work! It looks good.
Anyways, i did something really stupid (i used aircraft paint remover on my interior parts and it literally cracked my interior into looking like stone) so i tried to play it off as "rock" interior. But luckily i had the patience to use bondo to fill it in and sand the fker down so it looks normal again. But with all that sanding and goop everywhere - i mean dang, ur stuff looks good. Cant wait to see the final product.

Thanks guys, your feedback is appreciated.
pictures of the radio trim and tv trim are on page two.
And, yes, the wiring was a HUGE pita. took me forever to run over 160ft of wire to lenghten the Climate control's orig. wiring.

heheh... I was wondering if anyone would recognize the truck!
that thing dates back to the late 80's early 90's... it was my 1st hobby truck... I keep it for all the good memories from my early childhood.
good eye.
a few more...

thoughts? comments? opinions? let me know... good or bad!!
by the way, the paint is a direct factory match to the center console (front vents, shifter console) so thats why it is painted that way. the paint was $40 for a pint!! eck! lol
EDIT: and yes I am a smoker, and yes, I know i need to clean my car... but the project has just taken up so much of my time.

thanks guys for the positive feedback!
as for the rear view mirrior issue... I'm going to have to get back to you on that one.
I never really thought about during this whole process. I already have a rear view camera, so thats not an issue... but i would still like the use of my mirror...
I am going to go back out to my car and install it again to see if i can still see behindd me or not... if not, then i am not sure what i am going to do.

Yeah, I was thinking about either doing that, or somehow extending the "axel" of the mirrior somehow. the only reason why i do not want to remover the mirrior is because there is a black dot on the windsheild that comes factory, that will show if i move the mirrior... but i guess thats what i am going to have to do.

bah, the things we do to mod our cars... lol
well, I test fitted the unit again, and sure enough it is blocking the rear view by about 2 inches.
I'm so stupid... why didn't i think about this before? I hope if i move the mirrior dow 2 inches, it will not look out of place, or be in the way of my normal veiwing...
I am also thinking about maybe attaching the mirror somehow to the bottom or underneath the unit i just built. i will have to think about it..
what do you guys think i should do? have any ideas for me?

looks good mounted and i was gonna say something about the mirrow but you seem to have found it out. I think move it the 2 inches down and you should be good. Or atleast til the top of the mirror is flush with the bottom of the console.

:
I like the idea of extending the arm that holds the mirror so that you don't actually have to move the mount. Don't know where you'd find a longer arm, though. Maybe you could build one out of fiberglass.

heheh, I don't think I can do that.
I wonder if anyone knows where to get a longer arm? maybe i will have to build one myself. this project is begining to become more of a hasle then its worth.
lol

can't wait to see it!
