Question on option of heated steering wheel

I'm fairly new to the 5th Gen maxima. (I've owned several maximas but they have all been 3rd Gens. I'm looking at buying a 2002 or 2003 6spd within the next 6 months).

I was wondering if the heated steering wheel option is only availabe if the car has full leather interior. I thought it probably would be but I'll ask anyway.

I like the idea of the heated steering wheel, since I live in an area where it gets cold in the winter. But I would much rather have cloth seats and trim then leather.

On the 02s, it was avail only with leather... and in the cold, it is VERY nice to have those heated seats and steering wheel, seeing that you're in Ohio...

I love my heated mirrors, but don't understand the point of heated seats and steering wheel. If it's cold out, I'll already have on gloves and a full-length coat. I guess it would be a different story for someone wearing a$$-less chaps and palm-less gloves, but that's not my scene. I would much rather have a wiper defroster like some Subarus and/or something to deice my doors.

With gloves and a full length coat, it gets too hot for me in the car, besides, I hate heavy winter coats when I'm driving... its nicer to be in a light jacket/fleece with warm seats and steering wheel when I'm in the car... but hey, that's just me... you have your preference and I have mine... there's nothing wrong with more options... people who like heated seats and a heated steering wheel will buy cars with heated seats and a heated steering wheel. If ya don't need it, ya don't really have to buy a car with it.

you know you love it. even if you never used it, you know it's there and you would go stir crazy if it wasn't.

umm.. not everyone likes to wear gloves? and full length coat?
do you have heated steering wheel?
even if you have all that gloves and clothing, trust me, us NE guys know what it feels like in the morning with a frozen steering wheel. i hate it. and i know damn well that cold is gonna go right through your fancy leather gloves. unless you wear those bulky snow gloves which i dont recommend using them while driving. cmon now, do we really need to discuss about this?

Triple8sol has a 2002 Max with the Meridian Edition package, and it came with cloth seats. He has since installed leather, but there were 02's with Meridian and cloth.

Of course those would be VERY rare...
