HIDs wont fit... broken clip, new one, still won't fit
I have a 2000 maxima and the professional installers had a hell of a time to get the right one to fit. they broke the clip which holds it in place. i ordered a new one and now it still wont slide in correctly, so apparently they molded some of the back of the light so that is want go in the clip! how do i go about correcting this? i do NOT want to take it back to them, they SUCK, although that are D.O.T. and S.A.E. certified. either way, they messed up the back and i can't seem to figure out how to fix it... where can i take it or what can i do to make it go in correctly? need all the help anyone can give...
its pretty easy actually...
u jus have the clip, put it where its supose to go, then u just put ur headlight in...
apparently your headlight installers are just idiots, or there is something wrong with your headlights/car

I am using 00-01 stock white clips and my HIDS fit fine. Although at first I had some trouble since the 2k3 HIDS weren't seating properly and then realized that you have to sort of level it with the clip and push it in. It locks itself into the white clip. The grey clips are not mandatory, but if you want to get them its fine.
The grey clips are made for the HID's, and the white clips are made for the 2000-2001 headlamps. If you buy the grey ones made for the HID's, they will fit better on the 2000-2001 bumper. I have HID's, too, on my 2K SE, and was told by Dave B. that I need the grey clips to get a better fit. Very reputable guy....he know's his Nissans, especially our Max's!

I bought the Angel Eyes for my 2000 and installed them a few days ago. Nowhere did I see any mention of having to use 2002 clips. Luckily I saw this thread since I snapped my white ones trying to install them. The grey ones shift the clamping location back about 1/2".
$8.80 for the pair here at CA dealer.
