Frying 5.5gen Bose Amp with Aftermarket Headunit????

Sorry for posting here instead of the audio boards but no one has replied to my previous posts there and this is pretty year specific since my friends gen 3 has no problems for 2 yrs with aftermarket radio to bose amp////

So I read in the stickies about the Pac audio adapter Roem2 which I ordered and am currently waiting for, however in the meantime I hooked up my new headunit through a cheap Nissan adapter and wired the amp power on seperate. Works perfect? I posted my find in the sticky and (sorry I forgot your username but the guy with an Accord coupe up for sale) said that I would fry the amp as well as my new head unit. How many of you have tried this and done just that? How long before this happens since my adapter isn't coming in for about a week? All the installers around here told me that this is the method they use for maximas and pathfinders so I imagine a good 85% are riding around like this?

Thanks in adv.

oh and some pics of the new hu --- pioneer p80mp ---- (bose looks better but can't stand the stress of skippings, cutting out of sound, etc, etc + Sirius is awesome)

The Bose speakers work on a 2ohm frequency, while most aftermarket HU's use a 4ohm setup....it will work ok directly plugged, but you could blow up everything at high volumes...also sound quality will suffer.

Just keep the volume low until you get the PAC-REOM-NIS2 adaptor.....
